DO MEDICAL DRUGS WORK?

November 26, 2007

DO MEDICAL TREATMENTS FOR H. PYLORI WORK?

The answer to this question is yes AND no and it's one of the reasons why you may be so confused about the information that's out there.

I know from experience that medical drugs can kill H. pylori for sure. I also know that many people can have multiple treatments without any success and a worsening of symptoms. If the drugs don't work, you may become anxious and feel confused as to just how to get rid of your H. pylori. Please don't worry because ther are safe, natural alternatives that you can use.

I’d like to share with you the reasons why the drug therapies are 'hit and miss'. .

Since 1998 doctors have tended to prescribe what is known as “Triple Therapy”, using three different types of drug. This usually consists of two antibiotics and either a proton pump inhibitor or antacid.

Antibiotics kill the H. pylori

Proton Pump Inhibitors (e.g. Nexium, Prilosec, Prevacid) stop the production of acid in your stomach, which can relieve symptoms such as acid reflux and heartburn.

Antacids (e.g. Tagamet, Zantac, Rennie) neutralise acid in the stomach and can temporarily alleviate heartburn and reflux symptoms.

H2 Blockers (e.g. Tagamet, Zantac) can also protect the stomach lining in complex cases.

It is really important to understand that Nexium, Prilosec, Prevacid, Tagamet, Zantac, etc, DO NOT KILL H. PYLORI. The reason they are given is to lessen some of the symptoms by shutting down acid production in the stomach. But you need acid to digest food. If the acid drops too low you canot absorb nutrients properly from your food and this will inevitably lead to nutrient deficiencies.

There are several reasons why drugs may or may not work for you:

1. Medical drugs do not affect everyone in the same way. You are a unique individual, with a unique metabolism. You may have no problem on the medications but your sister may react badly or suffer nasty side effects. If you experience side effects it will be very hard to complete the course of medicine and it will then be ineffective.

2. The health of your immune system is the key. Havinig spoken with several doctors about this issue, we all agree that THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF ANY ATTEMPT TO KILL H. PYLORI. If your immune system is in good shape, the more likelihood of the drugs working for you. To have a healthy immune system it’s important to eat good foods, minimise bad foods, get enough sleep and exercise appropriately. My programs teach you exactly how to do this.

3. There are many different strains of H. pylori. Some strains are more resistant to specific antibiotics. Each time you take antibiotics, H. pylori develops more resistance.

The key to getting medications to be more effective is to do your best to get healthy before taking them. If you can give your body a natural boost and THEN try to kill the H. pylori, you have a much better chance of the medications working.

If you have tried several courses of antiobiticis, it is likely that a natural approach will be better for you because the H. pylori will be resistant to the drugs.

SUMMARY

  • Medical drugs do not work for everyone
  • The drugs have a much better chance of working if you support your immune system
  • You may not be able to complete the course if you suffer side effects
  • Different strains of H. pylori are resistant to various antibiotics
  • Natural solutions ARE available to you and WILL work
