Your Skin Symptoms Are “Inside Out”

Do you have any of the following “inside out” symptoms with your skin, hair and nails:

  • Unexplained rashes on your skin – rosacea, hives (urticaria)?
  • Dermatitis?
  • Psoriasis?
  • Adult acne?
  • Dandruff, jock itch or fungal nails?
  • Weak, ridged, dull or brittle nails?
  • Dull hair, or hair falling out?

If so, you might be surprised that these symptoms are usually caused by problems with your gut and liver.

Lotions and creams won’t solve skin symptoms when they’re simply a reflection of what’s going on inside your body.

Let’s start with H. pylori – a bit of boring information, but a review paper published in the European Journal of Dermatology linked H. pylori with a number of skin conditions. The strongest relationships are between H. pylori and:

  • Chronic ITP
  • Rosacea
  • Urticaria

Intestinal Candida overgrowth is known to contribute to wide range of skin and nail symptoms, including dandruff, jock itch and fungal toenails.

Some time ago, I experimented with myself – if I let myself get run down, I tended to get a white coating on my tongue and pimples on my arms. These are both signs of Candida proliferation.

We also know food intolerances and allergies result in skin symptoms in many people and various parasites cause skin symptoms, too.

For example, the condition dermatitis herpitiformis is the skin manifestation of gluten intolerance / coeliac disease, where gluten causes inflammation in your intestine.

Put simply: there’s a very strong link between problems in your “internal skin” (gut lining) and your external skin, hair and nails.

So What’s Going On?

It’s hard to explain all the possible ways your gut (including H. pylori can cause skin problems). Here are a few reasons:

  1. Inflammation in your intestine caused by foods such as gluten definitely causes skin symptoms; cow’s milk can also be a “big player” in skin symptoms.
  2. Bad bugs in your gut stimulate an immune response in your gut that overflows into other parts of your body and creates skin problems.
  3. You may have heard of “leaky gut syndrome”, in which bad food and bad bugs damage your intestinal lining and allow toxins, microbes and undigested food particles into your blood. Leaky gut can result in skin problems because your body mounts an immune response against the things that are
  4. Having a damaged gut can result in poor nutrient absorption, which can cause skin problems. Protein, fatty acid and vitamin deficiencies can all result in skin symptoms.
  5. Nail and hair quality can also be affected by nutrient deficiencies – in fact, these tissues are often some of the first to reveal clues about nutrient status.

If your liver is overwhelmed by bad things entering from your gut (bugs, foods, toxins), your body will try to push out toxins through your skin rather than use its preferred detoxification pathways (liver, kidneys, colon); as the toxins are pushed through your skin, they

I’ve seen some remarkable improvements in client skin, hair and nail quality by simply helping them rejuvenate digestive health and support proper detoxification.

Some of the changes have been remarkable.

It’s really just a three-step process:

  1. Remove bad foods from your diet – these include gluten, processed sugar and cow’s milk, vegetable oils, and other processed foods.
  2. Remove bad bugs from your gut and heal the gut lining so it is no longer “leaky” (it is important to run a comprehensive stool test to determine which bad bugs are in your digestive system).
  3. Support your liver and replenish your nutrient levels.

Now, I acknowledge that in some cases the chemicals you are putting on your skin may cause rashes.

Please be careful with cosmetics, personal care products and make up – they contain chemicals that can be very irritating.

A Home Stool Test

Doing a home stool test changed my life – I’m not sure whether I would have found out why I felt unwell had I not done one. I wish I had done one a lot sooner as it would have saved a lot of toil and struggle!

Our H. pylori home stool test tells you whether you have H. pylori, which strain you have, and whether you have an antibiotic strain. It is a completely unique test and has extremely limited availability. Click here for details.

If you would like to check for parasites, Candida overgrowth, whether you are digesting your food and whether you have a damaged immune system, you can also do this from your own home. I recommend this test if you have digestive pain of any kind, as it is very comprehensive.
